SFSU Spring 2012

I survive the first week of the Spring Semester at San Francisco State University. Luckily my first day of class was not the day that the semester began. The Ethnic Studies and Asian American Studies Department were celebrating Chinese New Year on Monday. They cancel every class in that department to celebrate the New Year. I did not have to come in. Thankfully one of my professors send me an e-mail Sunday Afternoon.

The first day of class on Wednesday was great. I have a cool professor that seems easy going. He is young and wants his students to feel comfortable with the class. I check out the reading schedule. It does not seem hard to do the reading. All I have to do when I come to class is be prepare to take the quiz and make sure I did the reading for that day. He quizzes us to make sure that the students did the reading. I am not sure if it will be multiple choices or write a sentence on the reading. I will not know until Monday when I take the first quiz.

My other class does not start until Monday Afternoon. I was told that the professor that I am taking is good. She seems to know how to treat her students well. The assignment she gives to her students are well detail and not hard to understand. There are professors on campus that don’t care about their students. They have strict ways of teaching the courses. There are some professors that don’t mention the reading in the class and just ramble about subjects that are not involve with the class. I have had those types of professors at SFSU. I just want to have professors that are dedicated to their students and have a passion of the subject that they teach.

The new J. Paul Leonard Library open the first day of the semester. It is not completely finish yet. It is only open for students who want to study. There are no computers set up nor are there any books on the shelf. The inside of the building is great. They are planning to put in a café so students can have a nice drink while they are doing their work. What is also good about this building is that there are going hold performances (concerts, speech debate) and club meetings inside. I hope that the students do not trash the new building. It is horrible what people do when a new building opens up to the public.

Wish me luck on a good Spring Semester.
