SFIAAFF 30

I finally attended the San Francisco Asian Film Festival (presented by Center for Asian American Media) Sunday Evening. I almost did not attend due to parking. It is hard to find parking in Castro. Luckily after 30 minutes driving around the neighborhood I found parking near the theatre. Thankfully I was able to get in and find a seat.

I saw Yes, We’re Open (starting Lynn Chen and Parry Shen). It is about a couple experiencing open relationship. The movie was film in San Francisco. It was a great movie which great storyline. It got my attention on everything that was going on in the movie.

It’s been a long time since I see an Asian American film (the last Asian American Film was Finishing Up The Game four years ago). I enjoy watching movies that has Asians in them. It shows that Asians can be represented as Americans.

Parry Shen, Lynn Chen, and the cast of Yes, We’re Open appeared at the premiere of the movie. They answer Q&A about the movie.

I enjoy attending events like this. I just wish I had more time to see all the other films being shown in San Francisco. I’ll be ready to see the next film festival later on.
